Jacob Henry Mansion Wedding | Gladys and Steve

Bride and groom at their Jacob Henry Mansion wedding

Gladys and Steve said I do with the most beautiful wedding at Jacob Henry Mansion in Joliet Illinois. These photos are absolutely gorgeous, you HAVE to keep reading for all the details that went into their day and to read more about this gorgeous Joliet Venue. It’s one of my favs!

The Venue

I seriously LOVE Jacob Henry Mansion. It is such a gorgeous venue and the perfect place to host a wedding.  With the many buildings that make up the Mansion’s estate, there is enough space to have every part of a wedding day without leaving the property.

There are four primary spaces in the estate, the Jacob Henry Mansion, The Victorian Ballroom, The Old Central Church and the Lawns and Gardens.  For Gladys and Steve’s Wedding day, they were able to use all of the spaces on the property. Gladys started off her morning getting ready in the mansion.  Later on in the day she went out to the gazebo on the lawn to spend some time with Steve and get some wedding photos.  Then after the majority of their photos were finished they headed to the Old Central Church to get married. We finished off their night with their reception at the Victorian Ballroom.  All of the buildings were within walking distance of one another making it the perfect space to host a wedding.

The Details

Because Gladys and Steve planned a first look into their wedding day, they were able to spend SO much time with one another.  If you’re wanting to have a ceremony later in the day/evening I HIGHLY recommend scheduling a first look into your wedding day to give you some flexibility for things like wedding party photos and portraits.  Once the sun starts setting around 5 in the Midwest, there is little room for flexibility in your timeline unless you have a first look sometime before your ceremony.

After the ceremony, we were able to get some family photos on the stairs of the church before heading over to the Victorian Ballroom to join the reception with the bride and groom.  Gladys and Steve’s friends were SO loving and supportive throughout their wedding day, I loved watching their families celebrate becoming one together.

Jacob Henry Mansion was seriously the perfect choice for Glady’s and Steve’s wedding. The different areas throughout the venue gave such a unique and varied feel to their day and their photos. I’m SO happy that I got to be a part of Glady’s and Steve’s wedding. Looking for a photographer for your wedding day? Fill out my contact page and let’s get this party started!
