Denia and Aiden decided to have their elopement at Chicago’s City Hall. Let me just say getting married at City Hall has a very iconic vibe to it. Walking through the historic building to the lower level to get married in the Cook County Marriage and Civil Union Court, you feel a sense of history that Chicago tends to carry throughout the city.
Upon arriving at City Hall we ventured through the building and then headed to the lower level to get Denia and Aiden married. To manage some of the nerves we may or may not have started off our morning with a shot from Aiden’s flask, which is honestly the best way to start off any wedding day if you ask me.
The rest of their morning and afternoon was filled to the brim with nervous, giggles and overall excitement. To make sure the soon-to-be-married couple knew exactly what they were getting into on their wedding day I sent them my Guide to City Hall Elopements to give them the whole lowdown on what a wedding day at Chicago’s City Hall is like. Everything from where the bathrooms are, to what you need to bring, I go over ALL of it in the guide.
There will be nothing but good vibes coming your way on your wedding day. I make sure you’re prepared and know exactly what to expect leading up to your day. That way, once you’re in front of the camera, you’re ready to relax, laugh, and have a good time. On your wedding day, I will have a variety of prompts for the two of you during your newlywed portraits. The prompts help you two to focus on each other in front of the camera. With your focus on each other, you’ll both feel and look comfortable in the final photos.
That way you have photos that show the real emotions that you’re feeling on your wedding day!
“At first my husband and I were nervous about having pictures taken and posing and not being awkward. Mayra made sure we had fun the whole time. It was smiles and laughter. It was easy, It didn’t feel forced. She had fun prompts to allow to catch meaningful moments. I wish the session would of lasted longer!!”

After they said their I do’s we went out into the city to take their newlywed portraits. Denia had the most beautiful bouquet made by Bungalow Floral and it fit their city elopement vibe so perfectly.
Chicago’s City Hall has a great centralized location in the city. There are SO many beautiful places within walking distance to take photos after your ceremony. Taking your newlywed portraits is such a great way to spend some time together after the ceremony.
Denia Aiden and I, after a few shots, headed to the Chicago River Front to take some pictures in front of one of the most iconic views the city has to offer.
Denia Aiden and I had SO MUCH FUN wandering around the riverfront taking portraits to celebrate their marriage. There were SO many beautiful places to take their newlywed portraits. Between the river walk, the bridge going over the water as well as some of the staircases going up and down the riverfront, we had a LOT to work with.
