Intimate Pilsen Elopement | Angie + Carlos

Angie and Carlos hired me to photograph their wedding day and I am SO SO glad that I did. This wedding was seriously amazing, the two chose the best little intimate location in Pilsen for their elopement and it turned out absolutely perfect. Check it out!

The Venue

For their elopement Angie and Carlos went on the alternative side and found a super cool old bar in the Pilsen area and made it into the perfect intimate venue. With just a few simple touches Angie and Carlos were able to really make the space their own for their wedding day and it really shows. Their neon ‘Better Together’ sign and balloon displays combined with their mini cactus thank you’s added just the right amount of flair to their wedding set up!

Getting Ready

Angie and Carlos decided to get ready before the elopement, save for the finishing touches which they did at their intimate Pilsen venue. This setting for their elopement made these getting ready moments so personal, you could really FEEL the excitement and anticipation from Angie, Carlos and all their loved ones as they prepared for the two’s big moment.

First Look

For their elopement, Angie and Carlos wanted to get a little time alone before heading into their ceremony, so they had a first look in their ceremony space just the two of them.  I love the intimacy of a first look.  Seeing bae for the first time on your wedding day is a really big moment.  There’s so much emotion that can come from a first look that is just something truly special to be a part of. Both Angie and Carlos started to tear up during their first look, and I’m not gonna lie my eyes may have started to water a bit too!

Ceremony

Their family gathered around as the two prepared for their elopement ceremony to begin, in this small intimate venue you could feel the excitement rising as everyone waited for the big moment.  As the ceremony started Angie and Carlos began to say their vows to one another and everyone was super emotional, they even had their officiant and I tearing up! It was such a special moment that I’m so happy I got to be a part of.

Couples portraits

After the ceremony was over and their papers were signed it was time for some couples portraits! We had 2 awesome setups to choose from, one in front of their neon sign and the other under a balloon arch that was in front of this amazing wooden wall. I cannot say enough about how cool this venue was, it was seriously so unique and it made for so many great photo opportunities. We even got to play around and get creative with my crystal and flash photography which I LOVED.  It made for some incredible photos and we had SO much fun taking their photos.

The Getaway

There was a bit of rain outside so we made sure to have a clear umbrella, which I highly recommend, to take some photos as they got in their getaway car. Having one of these as a backup on your wedding day if it is in the spring or summer is a MUST.  Midwest weather is SO unpredictable, it’s important to make sure you prepare for anything, and you’re still able to get some great photos while under the umbrella. We took some final photos in the car before the two drove off into the sunset so to speak.

I loved so much about this wedding, the incredible Pilsen venue with its intimate setting, the personal touches that Angie and Carlos put together, and all the love throughout their wedding day made for the perfect elopement. I’m so happy I got to be a part of it, and congratulations to Angie and Carlos!
